Festive Delights: Three Little Owls

Today we are sharing our second Festive Delight for 2017, a stunning new collectable edition of Three Little Owls, which was kindly sent to us by Tate Publishing.

This whimsical festive treat was originally written in Italian by Emanuele Luzzati. John Yeoman has written the English version, which has been beautifully illustrated by one of our all time favourite illustrators, Quentin Blake.

Three Little Owls is a bit different from most festive stories as it features three mischievous owls and a winged, multilingual fish! We join the little owls as they romp around the World "with a bop and a bip and a bip and a bop" from one Christmas Day to the next. We follow them on their adventures as they fly to Berlin, Australia, Peru, England and China before heading back home with a basket of treats and, as luck would have it, they are just in time for the Christmas feast!

This really fun and somewhat silly story is truly brought to life by the delightful style of Blake's drawings. The rhyming verse and repetition make it a great story for the whole family to enjoy together. The beautiful deep blue and silver fabric cover of this hardback deluxe edition make it a very special book indeed and the perfect gift this Christmas.

  3. This sounds like a fun book and nice that it's a bit different from the usual Christmas stories.
For me, the classic has to be Father Christmas by Raymond Briggs. I found the picture of him sat on the toilet hilarious as a child!
